Toyota Sustains 100 Billion Yen Damage

Akio Toyoda, president of Toyota Motor Co., announces the company’s earnings during a news conference at the automaker’s head office in Tokyo on Wednesday, May 11, 2011. Toyota sustained damage totaling more than 100 billion yen from the March 11 earthquake and tsunami that devastated Japan’s northeastern region. The world’s largest carmaker posted a 77% drop in net profit for the January-to-March quarter due to production disruptions and the effects of the strong yen. (Photo by Natsuki Sakai/AFLO)
