The woolly animal was found frozen last May in the New Siberian Islands, also known as Novosibirsk Islands, Siberia. The body is in perfect condition; in fact it is considered the best preserved specimen of a mammoth ever found. A well-preserved sample of blood was found together with the corpse, and scientists claim that it may be used to regrow one of these animals that became extinct around 4000 years ago.
