October 29, 2011, Tokyo, Japan – Some 800 women, many of them from Fukushima Prefecture, march down the streets of Tokyo, calling for the evacuation of children from areas with high radiation levels and the permanent shutdown of nuclear reactors in Japan. The women, who fear for childrens safety and future living in the area affected by the nuclear disaster at the Fukushima No. 1 power plant located some 210km northeast of Tokyo, had completed their three-day sit-in outside the Ministry of Economy in a protest against Japans nuclear policy. Some 800 in number, they marched from the ministry to Tokyo Electric Power Co., the operator of the crippled Fukushima plant, and the Ginza shopping district. (Photo by Natsuki Sakai/AFLO)
