According to Sharp this is the world’s first mobile robotic phone and is designed as a connected companion that will relay messages, give reminders, and take and project pictures. Japanese robot creator Tomotaka Takahashi displays the world’s first robotic phone “RoBoHoN”, humanoid robot shaped smartphone designed by Takahashi at Sharp’s Tokyo office on Thursday, April 14, 2015.
The RoBoHoN can walk, speak, dance, take pictures and make phone calls with Android 5.0 OS. 5000 RoBoHoNs will go on sale in Japan on May 26, 2016 at JPY 198,000 each (approx. $1800). Sharp has not yet set a release date outside of Japan.
