Kotai Jingu Shrine Festival was held in Fujisawa, Kanagawa Prefecture on August 17.
The festival is held each year around the mid-August “Bon” holiday, which is when people honor the spirits of the ancestors.
Teams from neighborhoods surrounding the shrine pull wooden floats through the streets and engage in good-natured drum battles.
