Tokyo, Japan – Designer Kenjiro Sano held a press conference to explain the concepts behind his design for the official emblem for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, August 5, 2015. Sano dismissed claims that the design is copied from the logo for the Theatre de Liege in Belgium and explained that he had created it to follow on from the tradition of the 1964 Olympic Games which were also held in Tokyo.
